IEEE Madras Section announced the call for Student Project Funding on Aug 29th, 2019 and received 47 projects, based on the criteria 19 projects were short listed and announced to participants and published in the IEEE Madras Section website on 12 Nov 2019. A pre final selection demo was conducted through SKYPE on Mar 6th, 2020 to assess the status and to motivate and give suggestions by Jury.  All 19 teams participated and suggestions were sent to them. In that, the juries selected 18 projects for final demo and announced the demo will be conducted on 18th   April 2020. Due to COVID-19 we were forced to postpone the date further and finally conducted it on May 7th and 8th 2020 though webex as suggested by IEEE EXECOM

Student teams submitted their project report by 3 May which was approved by their Guide. This report was studied by Jury members before final assessment IEEE Madras Section SPF 2019-20 final validation program was conducted during7th   and 8th   May 2020, 10.00 Hrs. – 13.00 Hrs., through the webinar. eighteen projects were presented for the live demo online, There was a lot of improvement in presentation and also the prototype development models were demonstrated. It was highly appreciated by the juries,

Four projects were found suitable for certification and a cash award in three categories, like Rs.10,000, 5,000 and 3,000 for first, second and third places respectively, cheques and Certificates will be sent to the colleges.
